- NEW FEATURES
- ============
-
- 1. The SPEECH feature of the last menu is a complete speech utility. It
- allows the user to write, translate and speak entire phrases under
- various data on voices and sound characteristics.
-
- 2. A complete HEX EDITOR has been added to the program. The user can now
- EDIT and SAVE BINARY files in HEX and/or ASCII without resorting to an
- outside editor.
-
- 3. A new menu item, SHOW POINTER, has been added. With this feature you
- can now view pointers in system-configuration files created by HERMiT
- or any other program that saves pointers.
-
- 4. The sprite registers 17,18,19 now have fixed colors so that the pointer
- will not change colors when other applications fall on LoGG.
-
- 5. The SHOW FONT menu item now allows for the viewing of disk fonts in 4
- different resolutions.
-
- 6. The MOUNTLIST item in the first menu now shows more device names and it
- is considerably faster.
-
- 7. The HIGHLIGHT feature of the second menu allows you to highlight files
- in 6 different ways.
-
- 8. Your LoGG.file can now be edited with the submenu item EDIT of the
- first menu. This item runs your EDIT file with argument
- c:LoGG.file. LoGG will assume the new configuration when you choose
- the submenu item UPDATE.
-
- 9. SET FILEDATE in the second menu allows the user to set all highlighted
- files to today's date. This assumes of course that you have already
- set the date on your computer.
-
- 10. Several Assembly routines have been added in order to make the operation
- of LoGG faster and the code shorter.
-
- 11. The requestor now shows the file name when the RENAME gadget is select-
- ed.
-
- 12. The TEXT ANALYSIS feature allows you to analyze a text file with
- respect to numbers of words, centences, etc.
-
- 13. The FIX TEXT item in the READER menu is for the direct correction of
- text files that have been downloaded from BBS's. It eliminates the
- carriage returns from the highlighted file.
-
- 14. With the ASCII TABLE of the third menu, the user can now view all
- the ASCII equivalents in the HEX, DEC, and OCT bases.
-
- 15. The PROTECT ALL feature in the second menu lets you set your own
- protection bits on the highlighted files.
-
- 16. ARROWS have been added to the vertical gadgets for smoother viewing of
- the listed files on the panel windows.
-
- 17. The FIXASCII element in the second menu is now considerably faster.
-
- 18. The user now has the option of LISTING THE FILES that are being COPIED.
- This is done via the (default) subitem LIST in the first menu. When
- the COPY window is open and you want to cancel the copying, just click
- into the STOP gadget and then into the CANCEL gadget. You must STOP
- before you CANCEL.
-
- 19. The program does not flash a requester anymore when A FILE EXISTS BUT
- IT IS NOT LISTED. Instead of doing that it copies the designated files
- and refreshes the destination path.
-
- 20. When the source and the destination are the same, and the user works on
- one of the panel windows, LoGG will try to refresh both windows appro-
- priately for the DELETE and RENAME functions as well as various ARC
- functions.
-
- 21. The CATALOGUE feature of the fourth menu is much faster as well as the
- SAVING of the CATALOGUE and other files viewed by the READER.
-
- 22. The PATH IN BYTES menu item (in the second menu) contains now the option
- of computing the SUM OF THE SIZES of any highlighted files (including
- subdirectories). This is important when you have to know what this
- number is for copying and moving files.
